The Good Stuff
Growing up my grandma always had these little sayings she liked to use often in her everyday life. One of her favorites was to refer to certain things she liked as “the good stuff”. In my younger – and her more lucid – days she’d say “That’s the good stuff!” sporadically at fitting times, like when she found a new recipe she loved, or when referencing one of her favorite books.

By the time I reached adulthood she had began to develop dementia, and started using the phrase not just when it was appropriate, but almost constantly. Suddenly the most obscure and nonsensical things – literally anything and everything became “The good stuff”. After a couple horrible dementia-laden final years, I heard it so often that it became engrained into my memory.

I practically live to discover new movies, shows, games, music, and books to adore and consume myself with, as well as share them with others who might enjoy them just as much. Spreading the word about invaluable media has always been one of the key objectives of this platform, and I’ve created this designated page for me to do just that. When it came time to name this area of my blog, “The Good Stuff” came to mind immediately, and I don’t think it could be a better fit.

Stay tuned for further developments!

“Alone. Yes, that's the key word, the most awful word in the English tongue. Murder doesn't hold a candle to it and hell is only a poor synonym.”

-Stephen King

"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. An entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't."

" I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?"

-The Green Mile (1999)

"Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man... June 8th. My life has taken another turn again. The days can go on with regularity over and over, one day indistinguishable from the next. A long continuous chain. Then suddenly, there is a change."
